About Me.

Understandably, you want to choose a therapist who feels like a good fit. While our work together is about you, I believe making an informed choice to work with someone also depends in part on dissolving the power dynamic and knowing who you are working with. Because my approach is based on us having a relationship in which you feel trusted, supported and free to express yourself, I believe you have a right to know some basic information about me, too. Before becoming a therapist, I worked for eight years in music publicity and marketing, drawn to understanding and sharing the stories and music that artists wanted to share with the world. With the combo of eventual burnout and grief, I realized I wasn’t finding the meaning, purpose or connection in my work or relationships anymore. With hope and belief that it would work out, I made the career transition to become a therapist and increase my connection to others while helping folx heal, grow and strive towards greater meaning in their own lives - and I love what I do.

Experience and Education.

I have had the honor of working with adults, teens, families and couples in a range of settings throughout my career as a therapist. During my two-year internship at the Southern California Counseling Center, a not-for-profit community mental health clinic in Los Angeles, I supported adults, couples and families with their unique needs for therapy, as well as kids and teens through the LAUSD school-based program and adults in group therapy for relationship challenges. I have supported grieving teens and adults at the Calabasas Counseling and Grief Recovery Center and at Our House Grief Support Center. I have worked with clients battling addiction and trauma in residential detox and intensive outpatient treatment programs, and I supported families and young adults at Ellenhorn, a psychiatric recovery program that emphasizes community integration and healing psychosocial trauma.

As I am always looking to enhance my skills and experience as a therapist, below is just a brief overview of some of my training and education to date:
